DER MARZAHNER AUSBRUCHThe eruption of a German volcano
114 ÜBER MARZAHN Festival
Ahrensfelder Berge, Berlin, Germany, 2019
The first volcano in Berlin stands in the Ahrensfelder Mountains in the district of Marzahn. On September 7th, 2019, it becomes the highest mountain in the city on the occasion of the "114 ÜBER MARZAHN" festival. The smoke of the volcano comes up from the first layer of the Ice Age, goes through the GDR era, filters itself, and refreshes once it approaches the newly designed peak from the 90s.
Inside the active volcano, visitors can discuss and share ideas about the future of the neighbourhood and experience the feeling of becoming lava.
Special Thanks
Karoline Köber and Nicole Mühlberg
