KARL MARX BONSAI
48 Stunden Neukölln
Berlin, Germany, 2008
One trunk, one rubbish bin, and three benches are temporarily merged into a single, walkable pneumatic structure: The Flowerpot. The resizing of the existing tree to bonsai dimensions invites neighbours and passers-by to become part of the urban humus. The space generated within the pot is animated and amplified by sound — the Flower-Catalyzer. Lorenzo Brusci's compositions and Marco Barotti's live acts turn the installation into a pulsing, vibrating pneumatic sound system.
KARL MARX BONSAI is a joint project by Plastique Fantastique & Architettura Sonora for 48 Stunden Neukölln - 10. Kunst- und Kulturfestival.
