KulturPaLupe

KulturPaLupe is a temporary pneumatic architecture created for the LESERÄUME event of the Dresden Central Library, located in front of the Kulturpalast Dresden. It was designed and built during a workshop by twelve students from the Master’s programme in Landscape Architecture, together with Plastique Fantastique and the team of the Chair of Landscape Architecture. The idea is based on the image of “thought bubbles” as spaces for communication and thinking. They are transformed into a place for encounter and exchange. The name KULTURPALUPE is a wordplay combining KULTUR + TU + KULTURPALAST and LUPE (German for “magnifying glass”), referring to a “reading aid”.
