The CLOUD
Tempelhof Airport Berlin
Berlin, Germany, 2015

The CLOUD is a project implemented in cooperation with super an der spree for promoting a new software of Phillips. The area chosen for the setup of this pneumatic structure is a huge inner space of Berlin Tempelhof Airport. The space is characterized in neutral colors and a scale that exceeds the human scale, and it consists of metal elements that cross each other, creating frameworks, repetitions and enormous openings.
The interest lies in catching the visitors’ eye and highlighting the surrounding space by pointing out the controversies not only between the materials and their properties, but of the different type of structures as well. The surrounding structure is solid and permanent, carrying a history, while the Cloud is fragile and temporary. There is a difference in the textures, qualities and information that highlights the spatial characteristics and functions as an attractor for visitors.
When the setup of the pneumatic structure is complete, the space is ultimately divided into three sections. The first section contains furniture that defines a space and adjusts the flow of visitors. The second section is the inner space of the Cloud, and the third is the result of subtracting the two previous sections from the space that surrounds them.
Once visitors enter the Cloud, a transition occurs from a space overloaded with optical information to another, TOTAL WHITE  one.
